Technical Upgrade of Phenol Formaldehyde Resins Production
Project: The construction of a second reactor at the phenol formaldehyde resin plant and expansion of the product range with 5–10 new certified products in association with Hexion. The launch of the second reactor boosted the output of resins from 58,000 to 73,000 tonnes a year.
Product: phenol formaldehyde resins (PFR)
Increase production capacity and improve the quality of the product to meet the needs of the market for mineral wool.
Produce resins and expand access to the multi-layer plywood market.
Decrease customer demand for imported specialised resins.
Develop new formulas (increasing the flexibility of materials) for formaldehyde resins to meet the constantly changing needs of the market.
Current status: The project was completed successfully; the second reactor is working at full capacity, and new products have been introduced to the expanding plywood market.
