SHCHEKINOAZOT: THE FORMULA FOR SUCCESS AND PROSPERITY [30.05.2017]
Each year, the company's employees celebrate their professional holiday in a festive and very warm, sincere atmosphere. This year was no exception. Shchekinoazot celebrated the Day of the Chemist 2017 with awards, congratulations, smiles, star performances and fireworks.
Shchekinoazot is more than the flagship of Tula chemistry. This is its heart that, thanks to the Shchekino techniques, has been delivering the best economic and technical results for the past 62 years. Colossal success! Life, however, dictates the terms: it's too early to rest on their laurels. Traditional topics for the Day of the Chemist are searching for ways to overcome difficulties and the summing up the results of work. The company's results were discussed by the president of the company, Boris Sokol:
"I believe the main result is the progressive implementation of the Shchekinoazot Development Strategy. The program is proceeding as rapidly as before, despite all the difficulties and problems, both on the Russian and international chemical markets. When we started the program in 2005, it was crucial to save the company and the team. When preparing the strategy, in many ways, we did it at our own risk.
But we did it! Commissioned in 2011 in cooperation with the Danish world-famous licensor Haldor Topsoe, the M-450 methanol production plant was cutting edge not only for Russia but for Europe as well. And it remains so to this day. The importance of this plant for the enterprise is huge: Shchekinoazot was given a second chance, as well as the Efimovo branch and Khimvolokno Factory. They managed to save jobs, a stable salary and social benefits for the employees.
The second unique project is the combined complex for the production of methanol and ammonia with a capacity of 450 and 135 thousand tons of product per year respectively, which is currently under construction. This will guarantee the company's financial stability in high market volatility conditions.
...After commissioning combined production facilities of methanol and ammonia in 2018, the next methanol-related project follows, simultaneously to which we are planning to accomplish by 2020 and acquire all the construction permits for our largest investment project, ammonia and carbamide production facilities.
By 2024, having built ammonia and carbamide production facilities, we are planning to triple our gas processing – up to three billion cubic meters – and quadruple the volume of production. Investment will eventually exceed 2 billion dollars. We will become the leaders of chemical production in Russia!
…We are also currently building sulfuric acid and dimethyl ether production plants, new treatment facilities. We are launching a new ammonium sulfate compacting plant.
Of course, these are challenging and crucial times for us. In 2017, we are finishing construction, launching and preparing for launching several production facilities.
Our specialists, engineers and workers are making great efforts to maintain the existing production facilities and, at the same time, to build new ones quickly and efficiently.
But everything we do we do for ourselves. For the prosperity of the company, its employees, their families, for the development and well-being of the region and the country. Understanding all this makes us increase the level of our responsibility and professionalism as we work".
"For us, Shchekino chemists, the professional holiday has become a real family holiday, kind and dear," concluded the Head of the Chemical Enterprise. "Almost every Shchekino family includes someone associated with our company. The young workers who come to Shchekinoazot, will, I'm confident, honorably continue the working tradition of their fathers and grandfathers."
In 2016, 33 young specialists under 30 came to work at the factory. In the years to come, we will create 350 more hi-tech jobs. These people will integrate into the three-thousand-strong team of Shchekino chemists.
A Team of Professionals
Shchekinoazot is implementing a consistent, calibrated HR policy that brings results. There is neither a turnover nor deficit of employees. But there are dynasties whose combined employed service amounts to nearly four hundred years, and people who work in a responsible manner and enjoy what they do. Sixty Shchekinoazot employees were rewarded at the gala event devoted to the Day of the Chemist. 300 employees received encouragement in honor of the Day of the Chemist is 300.
"I'm very pleased that our company sees and appreciates our works," says Raisa Artamonova.
"My ties to Shchekinoazot go back 13 years. Now I work as a chief architect in the Shchekinoazot Pervomaysky office. I'm growing and developing along with my beloved company. On our professional day, I'd like to wish my colleagues working successes and great health.
Because at Shchekinoazot we have young and senior employees, who showed me the ropes when I first came to the factory. Succession is really important for the company."
"The most pleasant thing in my work is the team and the fact that we are always busy," says Tatiana Lebedeva. "In my 31 years at Shchekinoazot, I have worked in several workshops and divisions, receiving mutual understanding and support from my colleagues at all times. Now, I am a synthesis machine operator at the Shchekinoazot caprolactam production facility. Nearly all the workers there are men. They are always ready to help, give tips and advice. The working environment is very friendly. I wish my dear enterprise prosperity and happy future, and to all my colleagues I wish good health, patience and success!"
"The main thing in our profession is good, solid knowledge," says Alexey Kovalev.
"I am deputy manager head of the Shchekino Methanol M-450 Plant, and there are no such thing as unimportant details in my work. You can never relax! I'm very happy about this, as I like my complex and productive work. I wish my colleagues many working successes!"
"I am a beltman at the Shchekinoazot caprolactam production facility," says Nina Zamyatina. "I've been working at the factory for 44 years. During this time my dear Shchekinoazot has changed considerably, now it's a true giant, an enterprise that is actively developing and building new production facilities! I'm pleased to be a part of the rich history of our factory. I'd like to wish Shchekinoazot more new projects, further prosperity and good specialists".
Happy Day of the Chemist!
Boris Sokol thanked Shchekinoazot's team for their honest and dedicated work. He also expressed his deep gratitude towards business and financial partners, the heads of the region and personally to Governor Alexey Dyumin.
"The chemical industry is in the avant-garde of the country's economy," noted the chairman of the regional government Yuri Andrianov. "Shchekinoazot is a major chemical production enterprise that regularly increases its capacity, creates new jobs. Chemical production is in demand, therefore the enterprise has potential. Development of new lines will support the economic stability of the region and its residents."
