VETERANS FROM SHCHEKINSK DISTRICT RECEIVED GIFTS FROM SHCHEKINOAZOT ON VICTORY DAY [10.05.2017]
On the eve of May 9, Shchekino chemists brought celebratory food baskets to the homes of veterans of the Great Patriotic War, and addressed them with the warmest words of congratulation. This has become a great tradition. This year, 158 veterans in the district received presents from Shchekinoazot.
The least we can do is to congratulate and honor the people who gave us peace and freedom, and to support them. They are taken care of by the state and socially responsible companies, such as Shchekinoazot. For the last three years, on significant dates – February 23, March 8, Victory Day and New Year – the company has been running its Gifts for Veterans program.
Some of these people live alone and some have families. However, it does not matter how their life has developed. It is important that no one is left without attention, kind words and sympathy.
It is also important that company employees and members of the Veterans Council bring gifts to the homes of the veterans. Unfortunately, it is hard for many to go long distances, while some find it hard to leave their apartment.
Dmitry Kozhenkin, chairman of the company's trade union committee explains that, "this action is an initiative by Shchekinoazot as part of a large-scale program of good deeds that has been implemented over the past few years. The management's initiative was supported by the workforce. And so on the eve of Victory Day we hurry to our dear veterans with gifts of food baskets, and they laid a beautiful and good festive table. The company's management has decided that this initiative will continue in the future".
At the end of last week, chemists came to visit and brought gifts to Esmeralda Zaitseva, Zinoviy Bedin and Olga Smirnova.
They have had different fates, different paths, but equally complex, rich and interesting lives. We are grateful to everyone for their contribution to the Victory.
On behalf of Shchekinoazot president Boris Sokol, and of the whole company, Dmitry Kozhenkin wished the veterans health, vigor and family well-being.
Gifts were handed out over all the pre-holiday days.
Let us also recall: since this year, veterans of the Great Patriotic War who worked at the company, their widows, as well as former concentration camp prisoners, receive an additional monthly pension.
In addition, monetary assistance is provided to all labor veterans who have worked at the enterprise for many years.
The total sum of social and charitable expenses for Shchekinoazot in 2016 alone exceeded 95 million rubles.
