Yasnaya Polyana AgreementShchekinoazot is located near Yasnaya Polyana, the birthplace of the great classic of Russian literature - Lev Nikolaevich Tolstoy. The State Memorial and Nature Reserve "Museum-Estate of L. N. Tolstoy "Yasnaya Polyana" is known in Russia as one of the best architectural and museum complexes. Today it is home to the center of interaction between business, culture and society for the preservation and enhancement of the historical and cultural heritage of a brilliant writer, the efficient use of available territorial resources and human potential, and the development of enlightenment and educational activities.
Promoting social progress, sustainable development of territories, improving people's living standards are the goals of socially oriented business. In 2004, the administration of the Tula region, State Memorial and Natural Reserve "Museum-Estate of L. N. Tolstoy "Yasnaya Polyana" and Shchekinoazot drew up and signed the Yasnaya Polyana Agreement on joint activities for the benefit of the Yasnaya Polyana territories and the entire Shchekino district.
The life and health of people are the most important priorities of this movement. One of the striking examples of joining forces is the event arranged by the movement in 2006 to raise funds for the repair of a children's hospital. More than 28 million rubles was raised, which enabled to completely repair the building of the Shchekino children's hospital.
The following events have also become traditional and favorite events of Shchekino residents: planting trees in Yasnaya Polyana "Let's Save Yasnaya Polyana for Future Generations" (more than 10 thousand trees were planted), "Forest Beauty" (Christmas trees in churches of the Shchekino district are decorated with items that are handmade by children), "Birds in the Shchekino district" (installation of birdhouses in Yasnaya Polyana), creative contests.
For many years, the movement has been arranging the "Tolstoy lesson" aimed at studying the life and work of Lev Nikolaevich Tolstoy in all classes of all schools of the Shchekino district. Since 2015, the project has spread to the entire Tula region.
Under this Agreement:
- The Participants (Parties) undertake to coordinate activities and participate in the development of socio-cultural facilities in the region by modernizing and improving the efficiency of their use.
- The parties consider it necessary to cooperate in the development of relevant legal regulations that create the institutional basis for new technologies in regional development.
- The parties to the Agreement intend to participate in solving specific problems of creating new sociocultural and other facilities necessary for the implementation of program activities to create conditions for investment activities aimed at the development of the region.
- The parties will make efforts to build ties with the constituent entities of the Russian Federation in order to expand the areas of implementation of programs and projects.
