DMITRY MENDELEEV UNIVERSITY OF CHEMICAL TECHNOLOGY STUDENTS VISIT SHCHEKINOAZOT[10.03.2021]
Shchekinoazot offers extensive career guidance activities. As part of its cooperation agreements with higher and secondary vocational education institutions, the chemical enterprise annually conducts introductory tours to its production sites.
Shchekinoazot has recently received a visit from the first, second- and third-year students of the Novomoskovsk Institute of the Dmitry Mendeleev University of Chemical Technology specialising in thermal power and heat engineering. The university and the enterprise have an agreement on cooperation in the field of personnel training.
Students have the opportunity to properly supplement theory with practice only at an enterprise. Since the students study thermal engineering, they need to know the equipment and understand the processes and what awaits them in this profession.
Their tour of the city-forming enterprise started with Shchekinoazot OJSC's Hall of Labour Glory, which carefully stores documents related to the creation and construction of the enterprise, the stages of its development, achievements and unique projects of today.
After listening to the labour protection and safety instructions and receiving personal protective equipment, the young men and women went on an excursion around the territory of Shchekinoazot OJSC accompanied by its employees.
The students learned a lot about the technical process: what raw materials Shchekinoazot uses, what it produces, how much it exports and how much it processes on its own.
They got to see the work of the company's divisions and workshops: oxygen, motor transport, heat and water supply, and sewerage shops, the electrical department, the central technical control department, the sanitary lab, the repair shop, the Centre for Instrumentation and Automation, communications and railway departments and the design bureau.
The students also visited the chemical water treatment department.
At the central control room of the methanol-ammonia complex, the guests from Novomoskovsk got to see the high-tech production process that utilises modern digital technologies.
They saw Shchekinoazot's soon-to-be-completed third methanol production unit and nitric acid and ammonium nitrate production facilities.
At the end of the tour, the students visited the boiler-and-turbine shop of Shchekinoazot's very first facility, its thermal power plant.
After their visit to the production sites, the students said they wanted to undergo internship at Shchekinoazot and write their graduation theses together with us. Many have decided that they would come to work for us after graduation. After all, we offer brilliant prospects!
