TRAINING PERSONNEL OURSELVES[24.03.2021]
Shchekinoazot is hosting yet another period of industrial placements for students of the Shchekinsky Polytechnic College.
In March-April, third-year students receive practical knowledge in the enterprise's workshops while fourth-year students collect material for their graduation works and look for a future workplace.
This is where their career at a production site begins, just as it did for many of their mentors: experienced specialists and managers under whose tutelage they work today.
Last year marked 30 years since Tatiana Dikareva, a graduate of the Shchekinsky Polytechnic College, started working at Shchekinoazot. By that time, she already knew the industrial wastewater treatment and neutralisation shop very well. Industrial placement during her third and fourth years at the college, her graduation thesis and a degree with honours: everything was connected with this team, which quickly became like family to her. After a year of work, Tatiana was already engaged in extramural studies at the Novomoskovsk Institute of the Dmitry Mendeleev University of Chemical Technology and working as an industrial training instructor.
A little later, she became a shift foreman and theoretical training consultant. The next step was the position of a technical engineer and the corresponding responsibility for the technical training of personnel.
Today she is the deputy head of a workshop and continues to be responsible for training, being now one of the most experienced mentors at the enterprise.
Students from the Shchekinsky Polytechnic College trained under her during their third year and now, in the autumn of their fourth year, they have gone through various stages of training, studied the equipment and its operation at old and new treatment facilities and prepared reports. Now they are collecting material and preparing their graduation theses. Trainees can compare the performance of old and new equipment. The old equipment has more physical maintenance issues, while the new equipment is easier to service while also being compact, outfitted with modern technical means and digital equipment and requiring more thorough theoretical studies.
The new equipment allows to achieve better wastewater treatment results. The students, for whom this is their second industrial placement, already approach everything with deep understanding, know the technological process, and are even allowed, under the strict supervision of an instructor and mentor, to perform some simple actions and switches. They gladly take part in the work of the whole workshop, partly under the supervision of an instructor. They can set and regulate the pump performance...
The industrial wastewater treatment and neutralisation shop is officially considered auxiliary, since it does not produce anything for sale, unlike the plant's main production facilities. However, water purified according to high standards is actually the product manufactured by this department. The workshop has several stages, fairly sophisticated equipment and automated process control systems. Students gain valuable hands-on experience of controlling and regulating the technical process and get an idea of technological regulations.
The company also has many students who successfully combine college studies with work at Shchekinoazot OJSC. This is possible thanks to the far-sighted HR policy of the company and its social partner, the Shchekinsky Polytechnic College.
