SHCHEKINSKY POLYTECHNIC COLLEGE HOLDS CHEMISTRY CONTES[25.03.2021]
The Shchekinsky Polytechnic College, the talent foundry for our enterprise, is busy this spring. It is holding a chemistry contest with prises from Shchekinoazot and preparing for the upcoming demonstration exam and WorldSkills Russia qualifying competitions.
The Shchekinsky Polytechnic College has held yet another chemistry contest. It is traditionally organised under the auspices of Shchekinoazot before the Chemical Industry Workers' Day.
The winners and best participants are traditionally awarded prises from the enterprise.
The Shchekinsky Polytechnic College teachers select various level assignments for the contest, so that each student could leave with a feeling of satisfaction, joy and a desire to participate over and over again. The assignments include tests. Some resemble the General and Unified State Exams, and some are more difficult, where the students need to write a solution and come to a conclusion.
The contest is held for the first and second-year students who have demonstrated good knowledge of chemistry during the year. Teachers have an additional opportunity to look at the freshmen with good fundamental knowledge in order to further develop their practical skills and enrol them into the WorldSkills Russia championships, whose standards correspond to the professional skills needed in the manufacturing industry.
The winner among the second-year students was Daria Novikova from the 2TOS group (Chemical technology of organic substances).
Yulia Kharitonova from the 2TOS group was on the second place, losing just one and a half points to Daria Novikova. The third place was shared by Elizaveta Gavrilina from the same group and Sofia Istratova, the future composite material technologist.
The winner among the first-year students was Maxim Ilyichev from the group 1A. His studies maintenance and repair of engines, systems and vehicle assemblies.
The second place went to Mikhail Sidnikhin from the group 1TOS, and the third to Valeria Andreeva from 1UKP (Quality management of products, processes and services (by industry)).
The demonstration exam Laboratory Chemical Analysis starts on 6 April. In addition to the Shchekinsky Polytechnic College, the exam will be attended by students from other colleges. The Shchekinsky Polytechnic College is a specialised centre for this competence in the Tula region.
At the same time, the teachers and students of the Shchekinsky Polytechnic College are preparing for the qualifying round of the WorldSkills Russia championship among juniors in Yaroslavl, which will be held in April.
Student Daria Novikova shares her impressions and plans:
"I am actively preparing for the upcoming tests in Yaroslavl. I spend a lot of time in the lab... I love chemistry, especially the practical part. It's so interesting! I really want to see the inside of the Shchekinoazot plant. This will happen next year during the industrial placement. I really look forward to it. I have already been to the Hall of Labour Glory, where they presented us with gifts from the company. It was very nice, I hope to get there again...
